Chief Press Secretary to the Benue State Governor, Terver Akase, has described as unfortunate, comments credited to the Senator representing Benue North West that he will remove Governor Ortom in six months.
Mr Akase who stated this today, at the Benue Peoples House, said the All Progressives Congress leader in Benue was arrogating to himself powers belonging only to God and that of the majority of Benue people who voted Governor Ortom into office.
He said the senator had attempted to remove the Governor with only eight members of the State Assembly through impeachment and failed because it was an illegality and wondered why he was still day dreaming.
Governor of Benue State, Samuel Ortom, has declared that he would prefer to lose next February governorship election than win it through violence.
He said this as he urged politicians in the state to eschew violence as the 2019 general elections approach.
Ortom said this on Thursday at St Vincent De Paul Quasi Parish, Aliade, near the capital of Makurdi, during a funeral mass for late Emmanuel Ayargwer, a retired magistrate.
