The Benue state governor, Dr. Samuel Ortom was today applauded by the opposition Peoples Democratic Party ( PDP ) , when stalwarts and founding members of the party praised his administration for its probity and also commended the governor for running an inclusive government.
This commendation was made at the occasion of the state stakeholders meeting which held today at the Banquet hall of the Benue Peoples House, where the governor had invited elders and leaders of thought from all political parties and religions for a parley.
Among those who applauded the governor was a founding father of the PDP, Chief Abu King Shuluwa who told the governor that the PDP in the state was so far, satisfied with his administration even as they were always ready to oppose him if he went wrong.
“The PDP are very happy with you. The original PDP that I represent are very happy with you for this 100 Days so far. We agree we made a mistake, but Your Excellency, we are watching you, if you make the same mistake of the past, we shall give you the opposition you have never imagined. A lot of PDP members are here, and we are watching you, if you go at stray we will deal with you ruthlessly”. He said.
Speaking further he praised the governor for his decision to ensure that all funds taken from the state coffers Illegally are returned. “On corruption, you are doing well. Any body who has stolen Benue money should be made to bring back the money. If Jack Tilley Gyado has for instance taken Benue money, he should be made to bring back the money”.
Another stalwart and stalwart and former Deputy Governor, Chief Steven Lawani who also lauded the achievements of the Ortom administration. In his brief speech he said, …”you do not need to use binoculars and or microscope to see the achievement so far”.
