• Deducts 20,000.00 from every players salary monthly

Shocking revelations were made today as players of the Benue State owned Lobi stars football club besieged the gates of the Benue Peoples House to protest their ill treatment by the club management led by Mr. Dominic Ior fa.
The players who were addressed by the state governor, Samuel Ortom , complained of several underhand practices including hoarding of salaries and

illegal deductions from their monthly salaries.
A player who spoke with our correspondent said although the team manager, Dominic Iorfa had received salaries upto date, they were yet to receive their August and September salaries even as the state governor had assured them that the state had remitted their salaries to the club.
According to him Iorfa is in the habit of deducting N 20,000 from every player’s salaries for reasons unknown even as he had taken N50,000 off every player’s salary for two months in the last season for purpose of saving which was never remitted to them.

Complaining further,  they exposed that the team had reneged on the order by the League Management Council (LMC), to make N150,000 bench mark salary for all players in the league, as Dominic Iorfa had decided to pay them arbitrarily even as the state government’s Pay Voucher reads variant figures from what they are paid monthly over the desk.

Addressing the footballers, governor Ortom appealed to them to keep calm as he was going to look into the matter to find a lasting solution to the problem, while assuring them that the state government had paid their salaries upto date and was not owing them or any other civil servant in the state.
Speaking further,  Ortom who delegated the Secretary to the State Government,  Bar. Targema Takema to look into the issue informed the players that he had already taken steps to clear their outstanding match allowances of 2013/2014 / 2015

seasons which had accrued to a total of 33 Million Naira,  to which he had earlier in the week released 7 Million Naira as part of it.
It is worthy to add here that the Dominic Iorfa led management of the team has been under intense fire from football lovers and fans of the club for his shallow management and the dwindling fortunes of the club in the premier league.
