Nominees for the 2015 edition of “Factfinders Outstanding Personality Award” have been unveiled.
In a release on Tuesday signed by Miss Zaye Magdalene Ochuwa on behalf of the award committee, organisers say the final list is a product of “a meticulous screening process.”
“Out of over 50 names of Nigerians, who have distinguished themselves in their various fields of endeavour, the award committee, made up of a team of media professionals and the civil society, after wide consultations and a meticulous screening process, has come up with a final list of 20.
“From these 20 Nigerians who have made the final list of nominees, we believe we will eventually come up with persons most deserving of the various awards they will eventually be conferred on.
“As you are aware, ours is not a politically motivated award, neither is it driven by financial gains, but a way of searching through the lot of Nigerians who have gone out of their way to contribute a meaningful quota to nation building at whatever level or strata they
find themselves, so that they can be encouraged to do more, while other Nigerians would also be spurred to greater action, knowing that they are being watched, and their contributions would not go unnoticed,” Miss Ochuwa stated.
