Former Benue state governor, Dr. Gabriel Suswam has declared that he is not afraid of any probe of his eight year tenure as Benue State governor even as the present state governor has recently inaugurated a probe committeee.
Suswam who was in the country during the weekend to witness the burial of a Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain, Chief Atoza
Ihindan said he had read of the probe panel and is waiting for the outcome even as he is ready to be accountable for whatever he is found guilty.
Responding to the issue of the probe Suswam who took to his Facebook page to comment on the issue also advised that governance is a continuous process and thus the present administration should not totally abandon those projects that were initiated by his government which tend to benefit the people.
“I read in the media about the probe of my stewardship. I am waiting for the outcome and we are ready to be held accountable where found wanting.”
“Government is the people and will remain so till the end of time. Once you occupy a position of leadership, the searchlight will be focused on you and nothing about you will be secret anymore.” He said.
The former governor however took a swipe at the Ortom led administration accusing it of taking loans yet being unable to clear salaries. He further accused the administration of releasing fictitious figures while challenging it to publish the financial records do far.
“Obviously, the present government took loans to pay salaries but till date, the sole purpose of the loans has not been achieved. Yet, fictitious figures has been released to justify the over bloated wage bill as previously published. If anyone claims otherwise, the records should be published for all to see.” Suswam challenged.
