As the crisis engulfing the Benue State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party ( PDP ), deepens there is seeming loss of hope for any reconciliation of grievances as the party is not only loosing members but also prominent party officials, who have also blamed the state governor, Gabriel Suswam for the party’s abysmal performance at the just concluded polls.
This is even as the the state Auditor of the party, Hon. Abraham Nyikwagh to day tendered his letter of resignation from the party and its executive council where he has served a previous term and was running to the end of his second term.
Hon. Nyikwagh in a letter dated 26th May, 2015 and addressed to the State Chairman, the state Auditor said his decision to leave tha party was based on the fact that he was too old for the engagements of an opposition party since it will be too difficult to repair the loss caused by the present PDP.
According to him, his anger also emanates from the refusal of the party to heed his advise in the just concluded polls which has also cost the party fatal loss.
Meanwhile the former Auditor has placed the blame for the loss in the polls on the Benue state governor who he alleged displayed impunity and an undynamic posture.
” I believe that, the abysmal performance our party in the 2015 Elections may have been Bourne out of the character of impunity and undynamic posture of the leader of our party Gov. Gabriel Suswam and his cohorts”. He alleged.
This is coming at the heels of an alleged petition by the party’s flag-bearer in the just concluded governorship elections, Hon. Terhemen Tarzoor against the state governor over anti – party activity even as a couple of party executive including the state chairman, Dr. Emmanuel Agbo and Secretary, Hon. Joe Nyam have also been accused of the fall of the party in the state.
