One person was shot and killed in North Bank area of Makurdi local government area of Benue State when youths believed to be ardent supporters of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) had a serious disagreement over money donated by the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party ( PDP ),  Prince Terhemen Tarzoor.

The ugly incident occurred at about noon in North Bank ward 2 when conflict ensued among some PDP youths over money, because of the sharing formula.

The deceased was simply identified as ‘Quality.’

North Bank ward 2 polling unit is the unit of the governorship candidate of the PDP, Terhemen Tarzoor.

Eye witnesses said there was a heated argument among the youths, one of them became very angry, removed a gun and shot the deceased.

The culprit reportedly fled the area immediately after he committed the heinous act.

The deceased was quickly rushed to the Benue State University Teaching Hospital (BSUTH) Makurdi where he was confirmed dead.

The police public relations officer, ASP Ezeani Austin Amaechi, when contacted, said it was a cult clash and not a political violence, and that security operatives had taken over the place to avert crisis.

Amaechi insisted that the incident happened in North Bank ward 1 and not ward 2 as it was speculated.

He further said the mission of the suspected cultists to the polling unit was not known.
