The deputy governor of Benue State, Chief Steven Lawani has said that the presence of the All Progressives Congress ( APC ) to day is evidence that the Peoples Democratic Party ( PDP ), will one day get back on board.
Speaking during the State official Easter celebration, Lawani refute claims of his alleged decamp to the APC as read in the social media.
According to him, “even if PDP is without a single elective position in the country, I will remain in the party; I am not known for double standard , I am not prepared to join queue in any other party, if I dump the party that offered me the opportunity to serve my fatherland, what would you make of me?” He queried.
He further stated that
He will remain in politics and the PDP as “politics is not only when you in the corridors of powers, noting that the likes of Tinubu and Buhari started out with the opposition, and never contemplated joining the PDP, which he attributed to why “the APC is here today is a clear confirmation that PDP will rebound tomorrow, we will remain in PDP to correct our mistakes”.
It is worthy to recall that the social media has since last night been awash with reports that Chief Lawani alongside other heavyweights from the PDP have concluded plans to decamp to the APC.
