There is palpable tension in Ugba town of Logo local government area of Benue State as gunmen believed to be thugs working for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), stormed the area, burning the Independent National electoral Commission (INEC) office in the area.

According to information available to atiterkula, the incident which occurred at about 8.45 pm today happened after supporters of the rival political parties clashed.

Eyewitnesses said the entire Ugba town became rowdy as people were scampering for safety, with sporadic gunshots which resulted to injury of several persons.

It was further learnt that the armed men who unleashed the terror were dressed in military uniform.

However, the police public relations officer, ASP Ezeani Ameachi confirmed the incident and said policemen had been deployed to the affected area to maintain peace.

Ugba is the headquarters of Logo LGA which is the home of Governor Gabriel Suswam. It is believed to be controlled by the opposition All Progressives Congress ( APC ) and also the home of Suswam’s closest contender in the last general elections, who also doubles as the Director General of the APC Governorship candidate Chief Samuel Ortom. The town also is the home of the Director General of the Barnabas Gemade Senatorial Campaign, Mr. Mike Kondoun.

you people must not allow this idiot to get away with his corrupt practices by rigging the senatorial election. there is no basis for voting and then going home to allow PDP thugs to change results. protect your votes.
