The family of the first civilian governor of Benue state, the Aper Aku family, has dissociated itself from the proposed post humous biography of the former governor authored by Mr. Nathaniel Ikyur.
In a statement signed by the family head, Chief Akua Aku and made available to atiterkula, the family has disassociated the family’s name and reputation over the said publication.
Chief Aku said the family’s decision to disown the publication was because of “the haphazard and hurried nature the book was put together to achieve selfish and emotional objectives at the expense of facts and realities of human development which Aper Aku stood for”.
The family head also complained that because of the author’s desire for pecuinary gains, he did not consult the Aku family as regards details and facts published in the publication.
Chief Aku further enjoined the general public and all who hold the Aper Aku legacy sacred, to shun the launch and its public presentation as well as patronage.
