Al-Makura guarantees speedy return of dislodged Tiv persons

Nasarawa state governor, Umaru Tanko Al-Makura has reassured the Tiv people displaced in the persistent Fulani/farmers crisis of government commitment to return them to their ancestral homes without further delay.

 He said this while addressing victims currently taking refuge in Agyaragu, Kadarko and other communities across the state.

 Accompanied on the visit by members of the state executive council including other top government officials,  explained that he was in the areas to sympathise by people over the unfortunate situation, stressing that government was touched with the situation they find themselves in.

 Almakura attributed the attacks on some elements who do not want the peace and progress of the state and country, revealing that the state in conjunction with the federal government has put in place adequate security measures to ensure the quick return of the displaced persons.

 

“I want to assure you that government would do everything within her rich to ensure you return to your homes. As soon as enough security arrive the state, they would keep surveillance of all the affected areas to ensure that you live in peace”, he said.

 The governor donated the sum of N1million to the displaced persons and food items including mattresses as immediate relief to their plights, assuring that government would assist in rebuilding their burnt houses as soon as they were returned to their homes.

 Responding on behalf of the displaced persons, the state Commissioner for Community and Rural Development, Mr. Godwin Mbatsav thanked the governor for the gesture and assured him of the commitment of the Tiv community of the state to live in peace with one another.

    Tiv people are used and dump by any govt in Nasarawa state. their numerical strenght is what they are interested. gbagir j
