Speaking on the current negotiations by a group of Northern governors,Governor Gabriel Suswam has said politics is something that is very free, if people decide to change their parties, it is their own prerogative to so do.
Suswam who is a member of a negotiating committee with the Academic Staff Union of Nigerian Universities, ASUU disclosed this when he spoke to state house correspondents at the presidential villa, Abuja after a meeting with President Goodluck Jonathan.
“As far as I’m concerned I’m 100 percent PDP, I will never leave the party and I believe I will stay with the party until we get to where we want to be,”.
Governor Suswam added that they were free as leaders in their own right to embark on the consultation. According to him, “They are leaders in their own rights to consult, I’m not part of the wider consulting and what they are consulting for, they have the right to consult, so I do not feel that whatever they are doing round is for the interest of the country.
“I believe that whatever we do as present leaders, we must ensure that whatever actions we take would be for the interest of the people”
