Boko Haram Kingpin Escapes Arrest in Benue

Just barely a month after Benue State Governor, Hon. Gabriel Suswam was alleged to have raised concern over suspected Boko Haram attack, Ali Jalingo a suspected Boko Haram kingpin escaped arrest in Gboko, Benue state.
The raid which took place in Gboko South at about 3:00am saturday morning witnessed an array of gunshots during which Ali Jalingo was said to have escaped.
According to news available to atiterkula, Jalingo had rented an apartment behind the Islamic Primary school, Gboko South belonging to one Alhaji Dan Tsoho.
Jalingo who is said to be from Niger Republic and is wanted in connection for various bombings in Borno and other parts of Northern Nigeria was said to have been in Gboko for sometime where he lodged at a new hotel in Gboko before renting the apartment in Gboko south.
According to an eye witness,” There were gunshots around Gboko South in the early hours of today, precisely 3am. People thought it were thieves. But as day broke, a friend from that part of the town told me that Soldiers were after a suspected Boko Haram agent, Ali Jalingo. The man is said to be a fellow from the Republic of Niger. He is a fugitive leader of Boko Haram wanted in Bauchi State for bombings there.
This evening, towards 6pm, bulldozers were sited at the home doing their job. Five minutes later, the home is reduced to rubbles. Some residents are said to have deserted the area with the presence of heavily armed security personnel”. He said.
This is even as governor suswam through his Media adviser. Dr. Cletus Akwaya denied claims of threat by Boko Haram.
