Former member of the Benue state 6th Assembly for Gboko East state
constituency, Hon. Wilfred Bula has regretted that Governor Suswam made
them fail their constituents with fake promises that were never fulfilled
while they blindly subjected themselves to doing hatchet jobs in the
assembly for him.
Speaking at one of his colleague, Late Hon. Baver Dzeremo memorial lecture
held last Saturday at the Benue state university, Bula also advised the
present assembly to take their primary assignment of representing their
constituencies more serious than the politics in the chambers.
Recalling how their late colleague was suspended on the directives of the
chief executive of the state where the assembly breached all laid down
procedures and used a mere local publication in order to satisfy the
governor, he said all that was done with the hope that all the things
promised them will be fulfilled.
While declaring that Suswam cannot be trusted, the former lawmaker said
“the public grumbled with almost all the decisions will took including
refusing to probe the state/local government joint account, we could not
realised but at the end, nothing was given to us. Some of my colleagues
left the assembly worse than they came in”.
He said apart from failing to give reasonable constituency projects in
their various constituencies, they were deceived and falsely cajoled until
the last promise which was that most of them will be given the party’s
ticket to return to the assembly was also dashed, saying of all the 29
members, only 4 who struggled hard were able to return.
Also speaking, Governor Suswam’s campaign coordinator for 2011 general
elections, Dr. Terhemba Shija described the late Daver Dzeremo as a a
Marxist who excelled both in the academic and politics pointing out that
though loved power and the game, the lawmaker was generous and easy going.

this Bula is self serving. so, if Suswam had kept the end of his bargain, would Bula be critical of him? these people (political elites) must be made to understand that they are representatives of the people and must at all times, act in the interest of the vast majority of the people. i think it is insulting to the late Baver that such charlatans are allow to speak at his memorial lecture. nice story nontheless. well done.

Mr. Ati terkula can see me to avail him my speech on that day. It was written and circulated. And I still have a copy both in hard and soft.
It will avail readers a better position and understanding of what I said. Which I still stand for and to which am even vindicated of based on the recent happenings and revelations on Suswam and His cohorts.
