Tiv traditions creditable of emulation- Gov Wada

Kogi State Governor Capt. Idris Wada has said the way and manner the
Tiv culture like the Swange dance is protected and promoted
internationally by the Tiv Traditional Council calls for it emulation
by other races in the country.
Speaking in Gboko Local Government area of Benue State where the Tiv
Area Traditional Council (TTC) honours five illustrious sons of Tiv
extraction yesterday with various chieftaincy titles, Governor Wada
noted that one of the honorees, Dr. Terkula Suswam has distinguished
himself over the years in what he choose to do as seen in the
establishment of Ashi Waves Radio, Ashi Rice, among others.
He therefore advised him to sit up because the new title given to him
by the Tiv Traditional Council has added another challenge to his life
and should do more for the benefit of the down trodden in the society.
In his remarks, Governor Gabriel Suswam called on Benue youths to live
exemplary life style that will attract the traditional institutions to
honour them when they grow older; saying that no amount of black mail
by the opposition element will stop him from creating an enabling
environment for the youths to be self sufficient.
He called on all to join hands with his administration to move the
state forward rather than peddling unnecessary rumour against his
personality that will take them nowhere and commended the Tiv
traditional Council for the Five Tiv sons with titles as a form of
encouragement.
Those honoured included Dr. Terkula Suswam as the Zege- Iwanger I –
Tiv, Dr. Terhemba Shija as the Zege Kwaghfan u Tiv, Dr. J. k. I Ugela
as the Orwasen u Tiv, Goddy Ikereve as the Imaagh ki Abaver a Tiv and
Terlumun Akputu as the Afa sev -u- Tiv .
