The Senoir Special Assistant to Governor Gabriel Suswam of Benue State on Millennium Development Goals MDG’s , Mr. Timothy Terver Aikyor, has been dragged to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC and Independent Corrupt Practices and other offences related Commission ICPC , for allegedly defrauding the MDG’s to the tune of over N20 million.
The anti corruption agencies have also been implored to investigate the Technical Assistant of the MDG’s in the state, Mr. Terlumun Asaa with a view to reprimanding him in a similar circumstance.
In a two-paged petition to the anti graft agencies signed by the Managing Director of States Heights Services Ltd, Alhaji Jibril Terngu Gyuse entitled: allegation of corruption and fraudulent practices against Mr. Timothy Terver Aikyor, Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on MDG;s in Benue State, a copy released to National LIFE in Makurdi, Alhaji Gyuse said his decision to drag the Governor’s aide to the anti graft agencies was borne out of his (Aikyor;s ) failure to pay him (Gyuse) his N1.550 million being money for the contract he legally executed to specification for the MDG’s at the NKST Secondary School Adikpo in Kwande Local Government Area of Benue State.
Alhaji Gyuse disclosed that within the period he had finished the contract, the Governor’s aide had misappropriated funds accruing to the coffers of the MDG’s to the tune of over N32.75 million and wondered why he could not pay him his money.
He said even the Principal of the college had sent a letter notifying the state government t\of his completion of the drilling of the borehole.
Giving graphic details of how the alleged looting has further paralyzed the activities of the MDG;s in the state, Alhaji Gyuse disclosed that the Benue State government had awarded contract for the drilling of 210 hand and 80 motorize boreholes respectively as well as seven earth dams in the state on May 25, 2010 to cater for the infrastructural needs of the inhabitants of the affected areas, but he diverted the funds for his personal use.
According to Gyuse, “on each of the 210 hand boreholes, he (Aikyor) received the sum of N10 million from the contractors under the pretext that certain fee must be paid by the contractors for the agreement”.
He added that on each of the 80 motorized boreholes, Aikyor received the sum of N50 thousand from the contractors giving similar reasons; while N250 thousand was received on each of the seven (7) earth dams.
Gyuse who accused the MDG’s boss of singlehandedly running the MDG’s Bank Account at the fidelity Bank in Makurdi as a personal estate, also accused him of purchasing a car from one Mr. Chris Dura valued at N4 million.
He urged both the EFCC and ICPC to urgently investigate Mr. Aikyor to unravel other dirty deals he has perpetrated in the MDG’s office in the state to serve as deterrent to others.
Efforts to get the comments of MDG’s helmsman proves abortive as his phone numbers could not connect
