A multitude of Nasarawa state indigenes currently taking refuge at LGEA Primary School, Daudu in Guma local government area of Benue state following the deadly assault on them on a market day by suspected Fulani mercenaries have cried out loud that they are being abandoned to their fate by the Nasarawa andf Benue State governmens at their Daudu camp with no one to come to their aide.
The displaced people are from Giza Development area of Keana Local Government, Nasarawa state who were attacked on Kadarko market day recently.
Speaking during the weekend to national accord at the camp, the leader of the displaced people, Elder Emmanuel Tior said it is unfortunate that it was over a week since they found themselves at the place but nobody in their state including both state governments have sent a message or visited them.
Also speaking, Msughga Enger who visibly shed tears in an effort to speak said he and the children whose mother’s whereabouts is yet to be ascertained since the unfortunate incident, like many other families have been staying without food for about a week and prayed God to open the mind of the Nasarawa state government to urgently come to their aide.
Earlier, Hon. Dickson Tarkigir who was also there with a delegation of Ate –u- Tiv, a Tiv social network, told the displaced persons that they should believe in God that one day, a government will come into power that will fight to a stand still the incessant problem between the farmers and Fulani herdsmen.
Items donated to the people by the group includes, 27 bags of rice, two bags of cloth, a hip of tubers of yam, two jars of oil, dozens cooking ingredients amongst others.
